It is important to know fraud is often the result of members providing their account information to fraudsters. SCU Credit Union will never ask for your password, username or card information. If you receive a suspicious message or phone call requesting any of this information, hang up and please call us.

Here's how to keep your money safe

Use the SCU app to monitor your checking and savings accounts.  Monitoring your accounts can help you spot unusual transactions.

Early warnings are important to fight against fraud.  You can use SCU app and CardValet to get notified of transactions.

Link your SCU Credit Union Debit Card and Credit card.  You will enjoy tap to pay and enhanced security.

Fraudsters are always looking to access to your account. Protect your information. 


  • Don’t share your login credentials, especially if the caller claims to be from SCU Credit Union. Hang up!
  • Stop writing checks. Every check contains your account information.
  • Treat Trash and Mail Carefully: Shred your charge receipts, copies of credit applications.
  • Never reply to emails or internet pop-up messages that ask for personal or financial information.
  • If a text is from an unknown person, offers you a job, or says you have an unpaid bill. Delete it.
  • Do not click any links contained within an email that you believe to be suspicious

How we protect you from Fraud

EnFact Fraud Detection

To protect your account SCU monitors debit card transactions for potentially fraudulent activity using Enfact Fraud Detection. If we see suspicious transactions, you'll receive a text message with details about the suspected transaction. You will only need to reply Yes or No to the text.  Never provide account information.

If we can’t reach you by text.  Simply provide your Zip Code and if the transaction is fraudulent, you will be connected with an agent.

Remember - Report Fraud Immediately

If you think you have been the victim of identity theft or fraud, contact SCU Credit Union immediately at 781-784-7725, any other financial institutions where you have accounts, and the three major credit bureaus to request a fraud alert be placed on your credit report.
